Mary Jo Layton is Director, Executive Communications and Media Relations for Hackensack Meridian Health, leading strategies to enhance brand communication and expand the thought leadership profile for the CEO. Prior to joining Hackensack Meridian in June 2017, Mary Jo was an award-winning journalist for 25 years and covered health care issues extensively, winning national recognition, including an Emmy nomination. She was a guest lecturer at Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism and was an adjunct professor of journalism in New Jersey. She is a graduate of the College of New Jersey.
